We are seeking a hands-on Shop Foreman to lead daily shop-floor execution in our precision aerospace CNC machine shop. This role is responsible for coordinating people, machines, and jobs to ensure safe, efficient, and on-time production while meeting aerospace quality standards.

This position is designed for a technically strong machinist-leader with required Mastercam programming experience who wants to grow into operations leadership. The Foreman will work closely with senior leadership to learn production KPIs, scheduling discipline, and cross-functional execution, with a clear path into a Lead Operations or Director of Operations role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate day-to-day shop floor execution, ensuring jobs flow efficiently through machining, inspection, and downstream processes.
  • Assign, prioritize, and adjust work across machinists and machines based on production schedule, capacity, and delivery commitments.
  • Serve as the primary on-floor technical resource, providing hands-on Mastercam programming support, setup assistance, and real-time process troubleshooting.
  • Actively monitor job progress, labor utilization, and bottlenecks; escalate risks to quality, schedule, or delivery early and decisively.
  • Enforce quality standards by ensuring routers, inspection plans, in-process checks, and documentation are followed in accordance with AS9100D requirements.
  • Partner with Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain to resolve drawing questions, material constraints, and process issues.
  • Drive and support continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing rework, improving first-pass yield, and stabilizing workflow.
  • Maintain shop organization, safety, and discipline consistent with company procedures and aerospace expectations.
  • Participate in production and leadership meetings, providing accurate shop-floor status and technical input.

Growth & Development Opportunity

  • Learn, track, and act on key manufacturing KPIs
  • Gain experience in production planning, capacity management, and constraint-driven scheduling.
  • Progressively assume broader operational ownership with mentorship from senior leadership.
  • Advance into a Lead Operations or Director of Operations role based on performance and demonstrated KPI ownership.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven capability to lead teams with high emotional intelligence—resolving conflict, setting expectations, and maintaining morale under production pressure.
  • 5–7+ years of CNC machining experience in an aerospace or high-precision manufacturing environment.
  • Mastercam programming experience required, with the ability to modify, optimize, and create programs for CNC mills and lathes.
  • Demonstrated ability to run and support CNC mills and lathes on the floor as needed.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T, aerospace materials, tolerancing, and finishing processes.
  • Prior experience as a lead machinist, cell lead, or foreman with responsibility for people and workflow.
  • Hands-on leadership style with the ability to set expectations, hold standards, and mentor peers.
  • Working knowledge of AS9100D or similar quality systems; audit and FAI experience preferred.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • ERP/MRP system experience required; Fulcrum experience is a plus.
