I am recruiting on behalf of a confidential, 100 percent employee owned MEP consulting firm in Honolulu that is growing its building systems team and looking for a senior level mechanical lead who can own projects, mentor others, and still stay close to the design work.

The opportunity

As the MEP Project Manager / Senior Mechanical Design Engineer you will:

• Lead mechanical and MEP design on multiple projects in Hawaii, from planning through construction support
• Coordinate directly with architects, owners and other consultants on scope, budget, schedule and technical solutions
• Oversee design quality, perform reviews, and support site visits and field observations
• Mentor junior engineers and serve as a go to technical resource within the Honolulu office
• Contribute to high performance and sustainable building systems solutions

What we are looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
• 8+ years of MEP design consulting experience in Hawaii
• Strong mechanical building systems background, comfortable in a MEP lead or project manager role
• Advanced knowledge of building codes and standards used in Hawaii
• Experience coordinating with multi discipline teams and managing multiple projects at once
• Lives within commuting distance of Honolulu and open to a hybrid schedule (minimum 2 days in office per week)

Nice to have

• Professional Engineer license
• LEED accreditation
• Working knowledge of Autodesk Revit and Trane Trace or similar tools
