Preschool Assistant

Job Overview
We are seeking an energetic and compassionate Preschool Assistant to join our vibrant early childhood education team. In this role, you will support the lead teacher in creating a nurturing, engaging, and safe environment for young learners. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help foster curiosity, social skills, and foundational learning in preschool-aged children. This is a Monday - Friday position the hours are as follows:

Monday - Friday - 8:30AM - 11:45AM (Preschool)

Monday - Friday 3:15PM - 6:00 PM (Afterschool)

This is a salaried position and you are paid during breaks and during the summer.

Responsibilities

• Assist lead teachers with lesson planning and implementing age-appropriate activities that promote literacy, math, and social-emotional skills.
• Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and helping children develop routines.
• Provide attentive care to children, including toddler care when needed, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
• Engage children in play-based learning activities that stimulate curiosity and support developmental milestones.
• Help maintain a clean, organized classroom environment aligned with health and safety standards.
• Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members to foster a collaborative educational atmosphere.
• Support curriculum development efforts, especially in areas like Montessori methods or specialized programs for children with autism or disabilities.

Experience

• Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or early childhood education settings is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of childhood development principles and early learning standards is essential.
• Experience with classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies.
• Familiarity with special education practices, including working with children with disabilities or autism.
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues and engage with parents.
