What we need:
The Sr. Financial Analyst, reporting to Maisonette's VP Finance, is responsible for a wide range of strategic and operational finance and accounting activities to support leadership with key decision making. You will work cross-functionally to develop a strong understanding of the key levers that drive the business and help set and measure performance on those key metrics
What you'll do:
Strategic Planning & Budgeting:
- Building and managing 5 Year financial forecast including P&L, balance sheet, and statement of cash flows; help operationalize this forecast by working cross functionally to set KPIs
- Analyze monthly results and bridge actual financial results to forecast, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variance, including all areas of revenue, cost of sales, expenses, and operating metrics
- Support the annual financial budgeting and support the multi-year strategic planning processes. Be a thought partner to all business leaders and proactively think through ways to optimize the business to perform more efficiently
- Manage cashflow projections and support weekly cashflow reporting process
Financial and Accounting Operations
- Spearhead the design and optimization of scalable and adaptable FP&A processes and systems that can support and enhance the company's agility and rapid growth within a constantly changing business landscape.
- Collaborate closely with the accounting team to streamline and accelerate the month-end close process, provide in-depth analysis and understanding of accruals, and implement robust flux review processes to generate accurate and timely financial reporting that meets the highest standards of quality.
- Act as a primary point of contact for vendors, addressing their inquiries and requests related to invoices, commission contracts, and other financial matters in a professional and timely manner.
- Provide essential support to the A/P team by assisting with bill entry, ensuring accurate data and GL entry, and supporting the approval process when necessary.
Ad Hoc Analysis:
- Perform other ad-hoc analyses to inform key decisions (such as private label pricing model, promotion strategy impact on gross margin, etc.)
- Help business leaders make strategic decisions powered by data and strong understanding of financial trade-offs.
About You:
- 2-4 years experience in FP&A, investment banking, accounting/audit, e-commerce, planning or analysis role; startup experience a plus
- Strong financial modeling skills and a very high level of comfort with Microsoft Excel
- An analytical, creative thinker who can focus on the details without losing sight of the big picture
- Experience with business intelligence tools such as Looker or Tableau, familiarity with NetSuite a plus
- Strong understanding of GAAP financial principles
- Ability to prioritize shifting priorities
- Strong independent contributor with the ability to work cross functionally with colleagues who have less strong financial acumen
Salary + Perks
- $85,000 - $110,000 annually, commensurate with experience
