Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Certified Medication Aide to join our team. This role is essential in providing high-quality medication administration and patient care within our residential assisted living. The ideal candidate will have experience working with seniors, individuals with developmental disabilities, or those requiring specialized dementia and memory care. Knowledge of EMR/EHR systems, medical documentation, and a strong understanding of medical terminology are highly valued. The position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives while working in a supportive and professional environment. This is a daytime but flexible position.

Duties

  • Administer prescribed medications accurately following physician orders and facility protocols
  • Monitor and record vital signs, patient responses, and medication effects
  • Assist with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, and mobility support
  • Maintain detailed medical records using EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality
  • Support patients with Alzheimer's, dementia, or memory care needs through personalized caregiving strategies
  • Assist with tube feeding, catheter care, and other specialized medical procedures as trained
  • Communicate effectively with healthcare teams regarding patient status and medication administration
  • Document all patient interactions and treatments accurately in medical documentation systems
  • Follow safety protocols to prevent infection and ensure a safe environment for patients and staff

Requirements

  • Valid certification as a Certified Medication Aide
  • Experience in assisted living, nursing homes, hospitals, hospice, or home care environments preferred
  • Familiarity with medical records management and EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and medication administration techniques
  • Experience working with seniors or individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges
  • Ability to work compassionately with patients requiring Alzheimer's or dementia care and memory support
  • Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations and confidentiality standards
  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with healthcare teams and families
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy
  • Must be able to work in fast-paced environments requiring attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols

Job Types: Part-time, Contract, Per diem

Pay: $ $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 per week
