Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled CNC Lathe Machinist to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate a New ST-28Y HAAS CNC lathe to produce precision components that meet strict quality standards. Your expertise in machining, blueprint reading, and technical troubleshooting will ensure the efficient production of high-quality parts. Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and program CNC lathe machines using Fanuc controls and CAM programming software to produce complex parts with precision.
- Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications, and engineering documents to ensure accurate manufacturing.
- Perform routine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting on CNC lathes and related equipment to maintain optimal performance.
- Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) to verify part dimensions and quality standards.
- Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and tooling setups for machining operations while adhering to safety protocols.
- Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to review designs, suggest improvements, and resolve machining issues efficiently.
- Maintain detailed documentation of machining processes, inspection results, and machine logs for quality assurance purposes.
Experience
- Proven experience operating CNC lathes with Fanuc or similar control systems in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages such as G-code and M-code; experience with CAM software like SolidWorks or CAD is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with GD&T principles, blueprint reading, and mechanical drawings to produce precise components.
- Hands-on experience with electrical discharge machining (EDM), welding, plastics injection molding, or assembly processes is a plus.
- Ability to use precision measurement tools including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
- Basic math skills for calculating dimensions and tolerances; understanding of lean manufacturing principles is advantageous.
