We are seeking an experienced Senior Superintendent who will be responsible for overall field operations on assigned projects and will play a strategic role in developing general contracting-level standards, systems, and leadership within the organization. This individual will oversee site execution, scheduling, safety, quality, and subcontractor coordination while mentoring foremen and superintendents.

The ideal candidate has significant experience working for established general contractors, understands how to manage multiple trades and scopes, and can help elevate field operations to a general contractor mindset. This individual must have at least 10 years of experience managing projects ranging from $5-$20 million as a general contractor. This role is critical as we transition from a specialty subcontractor into a full-service general contractor.

Key Responsibilities

Field Leadership & Project Execution

  • Provide overall leadership and direction for jobsite operations from mobilization through closeout.
  • Develop and maintain site logistics plans, work sequencing, and manpower loading.
  • Lead daily coordination of multiple subcontractors and self-performed work.
  • Serve as the primary on-site representative of the company with owners, inspectors, and design teams.
  • Support with onboarding for union dispatched employees and communicate with the human resources team to collect and deliver required documentation and pay.

General Contractor Transition & Systems Development

  • Help establish and refine general contractor-level field processes, standards, and best practices.
  • Support the transition from subcontractor-driven execution to full general contractor responsibility.
  • Assist in developing standardized approaches for scheduling, safety, quality, and documentation.
  • Identify gaps in field operations and proactively recommend improvements.

Schedule & Planning

  • Collaborate with Project Managers and Project Engineers to develop and maintain project schedules.
  • Lead short-interval planning (look-ahead schedules, weekly work plans).
  • Identify schedule risks and implement recovery plans as needed.
  • Attend weekly internal scheduling meeting to provide requests and input for crew scheduling needs.

Subcontractor and Supplier Management

  • Pre-plan and coordinate subcontractor scopes, sequencing, and site access.
  • Coordinate supplier on-site deliveries/pick-ups and site access.
  • Lead subcontractor orientation and field compliance.
  • Hold subcontractors accountable to safety, quality, schedule, and contract requirements.

Safety & Quality Leadership

  • Champion a strong safety culture and enforce OSHA and company safety policies.
  • Conduct site safety audits and inspections.
  • Ensure foreman are conducting site safety meetings and ensure documentation is properly saved or returned to internal staff
  • Ensure quality standards are met and inspections are passed on first attempt.
  • Lead punch list and closeout activities.

Technology & Reporting

  • Utilize construction technology platforms (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, scheduling software) for: Daily logs, Photo documentation, Safety tracking, Schedule updates and Ensuring accurate and timely field reporting and documentation is done on a daily basis.

Mentorship & Team Development

  • Mentor Foremen and Assistant Superintendents to build future general contractor leadership.
  • Support training on documentation, scheduling, and communication standards.
  • Set expectations for professionalism, accountability, and performance.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 15 years of construction field experience with at least 10 years in a Superintendent or Senior Superintendent role.
  • Extensive experience working for a General Contractor managing multiple trades and scopes.
  • Strong understanding of jobsite operations and coordination.
  • Demonstrated leadership and ability to manage crews effectively.
  • Strong administrative and documentation skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications, and schedules.
  • Strong understanding of construction scheduling, sequencing, and logistics.
  • Experience implementing field systems and processes.
  • Proficient with construction technology and reporting tools.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
  • Familiarity with public works/prevailing wage and/or union projects
  • OSHA30 certification preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90, $125,000.00 per year
