Base Site: West Branch
Grade: 2
Rate of Pay: $16.35/hr.

General Summary
Under the supervision of the Administrative Director, serves as the secretary in public and environmental health service delivery, receiving calls and walk-in visitors and providing them with information or directing them to the appropriate person or office. Performs a variety of clerical tasks in support of departmental programs and duties assigned. Travel is required.
Essential Functions
· Competency in computer software (Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), types, formats, edits, proofreads a variety of documents and forms.
· Answers telephones, schedules, screens, prioritizes, redirects call or takes messages. Answers questions and handles routine matters.
· Greeting visitors and clients as applicable and directing them to the appropriate location or person as needed. Provides excellent customer service.
· Faxes, collects, organizes, files, prepares, and processes mailings, and electronically scans documents.
· Inputting and updating information in the agency's electronic records.
· Participates in the operation of ensuring quality assurance and improvement activities per program and department needs.
· Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team.
· HIPAA compliant with fidelity to workplace privacy and confidentiality.
· Delivery of services, internal and external, in a culturally competent manner.
· Other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience
· Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent. Associate degree and/or relevant experience preferred.
· One (1) year of clerical experience preferably in a clinic or medical office or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities.
· Experience working with culturally diverse communities and families and the ability to be culturally sensitive and appropriate.
· Excellence in customer service demonstrated by good Verbal communication skills with a pleasant telephone etiquette.
Other Requirements
· Valid Michigan driver's license; own means of transportation.
· Works in office conditions, including required travel.
· Initial and annual training pertaining to OSHA's Blood Borne Pathogen Standard.
