McPherson Family Eye Care is a large, 6-doctor, independent optometry practice in Wake Forest, NC. We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to support our Office Manager and leadership team in delivering exceptional patient care and maintaining a positive, high-performing workplace.
This position is ideal for an individual with healthcare administrative experience who enjoys working closely with patients and staff and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Patient care and team morale are our top priorities, and we are looking for someone who shares those values.
Requirements
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a healthcare office setting (optometry preferred)
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Management, or a related field preferred
- Ability to work some extended evening hours and occasional Saturdays
- Professional, calm demeanor in a demanding environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Clear, confident communication with patients, staff, and doctors
- Working knowledge of HIPAA and OSHA standards
- Experience with employee training, onboarding, or supervision preferred
- Commitment to patient care, quality service, and privacy
Primary Responsibilities
As an Administrative Assistant, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Support the Office Manager in daily supervision of staff and office operations
- Assist with employee onboarding, training, scheduling, and performance follow-up
- Help ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and company policies
- Participate in staff meetings and assist with meeting preparation and follow-up
- Serve as a resource for staff questions regarding procedures, policies, and workflows
- Assist with administrative duties as needed, and clinical support when applicable
- Help resolve patient concerns and staff issues, escalating as appropriate
- Communicate fees, policies, and procedures clearly to patients and staff
- Assist with tracking operational goals related to patient flow and office efficiency
- Coordinate with vendors and support maintenance needs of the practice
- Provide coverage for front desk or clinical teams when necessary
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
Experience:
- Management: 2 years (Preferred)

Pay: $40, $50,000.00 per year
