The Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools (KCKPS) is a nationally recognized urban school district that serves approximately 22,000 students, and 60+ languages are spoken in the homes of our students. The Kansas City, Kansas Teaching Fellows program began in 2000 as a partnership between Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools, Pittsburgh State University, and the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation. The program was developed and facilitated in coordination with The New Teacher Project of New York to address the need for teachers in high-needs schools. As a result, the Kansas State Department of Education approved the alternative licensure program.

Job Description: Seeking adjunct instructors (non-benefits eligible) for face-to-face and online instruction at the Kansas City, Kansas North Central Office, and Training Center, who are available to teach KCKPS Teacher Fellows education courses offered through Fort Hays State University.
Minimum Qualifications
Successful applicants must hold an earned master's degree from an accredited institution and have a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the discipline or subfield in which they teach. Must have college-level teaching experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Terminal degree in the field or a master's degree in the field of education. Two or more years of recent college-level teaching experience and at least one or more applicable qualifications.
- Faculty member teaches specialized skill-based/technical classes and has documented relevant experience or mastery in the associated teaching area.
- The faculty member has demonstrated discipline-based expertise through professional or scholarly activities, such as professional engagement, publications, presentations, consulting, honors, awards, and continuing education.
- Faculty member holds a national or state-issued license or certification in the field and has documented substantial work experience in the area.
- Faculty member teaches only interdisciplinary courses such as "success labs," introductory technology and basic information literacy courses, and other nontraditional courses that draw upon and synthesize knowledge across disciplines. Such courses are designated exceptions to the FHSU Faculty Qualification policy and therefore require no documentation from the faculty member.

Unless otherwise arranged, the following pay scale will determine faculty compensation for teaching courses offered through the Virtual College.
