Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our healthcare team. The PTA will work closely with licensed physical therapists to deliver high-quality patient care. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patients' recovery journeys by applying your expertise in physiotherapy and patient care. The ideal candidate will possess strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology, along with experience in diverse clinical settings such as orthopedics, geriatrics, pediatrics, and acute care. Certification and licensing are required to ensure compliance with healthcare standards.
Responsibilities
- Assist licensed physical therapists in developing and implementing individualized care plans for patients of all ages, including pediatrics and geriatrics.
- Administer therapeutic interventions such as trigger point therapy, manual therapy techniques, and modalities to promote healing and mobility.
- Monitor patient progress and document responses to treatment accurately in accordance with healthcare regulations.
- Educate patients and their families on exercises, discharge planning, and home health strategies to support ongoing recovery.
- Support patients through various stages of rehabilitation in outpatient setting.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care and optimal outcomes.
- Maintain a clean and safe treatment environment adhering to infection control protocols.
Skills
- Proven experience with physiotherapy techniques including trigger point therapy and manual therapy.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and discharge planning processes.
- Experience working in outpatient clinics.
- Familiarity with care plans for orthopedics, geriatrics, pediatrics, and acute care cases.
- Excellent patient care skills with the ability to motivate and educate diverse patient populations.
- Ability to work effectively within a team of healthcare professionals while demonstrating professionalism and compassion.
- Prior experience in outpatient clinics or specialized areas such as orthopedics or geriatrics is highly desirable.
Pay: From $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
