Job Summary
The Working Foreman – T.I. leads and coordinates day-to-day field operations on interior/tenant improvement projects while actively performing trade work. This role sets the pace for quality, productivity, and safety; coordinates crews and subcontractors; and ensures the work is built to plan, spec, schedule, and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead from the field—work alongside the crew while directing daily tasks, sequencing, and production.
- Review plans/specs, confirm scope, and communicate constraints early (RFIs, conflicts, access issues, shutdowns).
- Perform and oversee T.I. work such as layout, framing/backing, drywall coordination, doors/frames/hardware coordination, ceiling systems, protection of finishes, punch work, and closeout readiness (as applicable to company scope).
- Coordinate workflow so areas are ready for following trades; maintain 1–3 week look-ahead planning.
- Drive quality control: verify layout, installations, and finishes; correct deficiencies early to prevent rework.
- Lead safety: enforce company safety program and Cal/OSHA requirements; maintain clean, organized work areas.
- Provide daily communication to Superintendent/PM: manpower, progress, constraints, material needs, and schedule risks.
- Track timekeeping and daily reporting as assigned; support documentation of field conditions and changes.
- Support training and development of crew members; hold the standard for professionalism onsite.

Knowledge and Skills
- Ability to read/interpret plans, specs, and basic shop drawings; strong layout and sequencing skills.
- Must be able to step into an active project and lead with minimal ramp-up (hit-the-ground-running, limited supervision).
- Strong communication, accountability, and problem-solving; able to coordinate with subs/inspectors/clients professionally.
Education Qualification and Experience
- 5–7+ years commercial construction experience with strong T.I./interiors background
- Foreman/lead experience required.
- OSHA 10 preferred (OSHA 30 a plus).
- Valid driver's license; reliable transportation; ability to travel between job sites as needed.
Physical Requirements / Working Conditions
Frequent standing/walking, lifting/carrying (up to ~50 lbs.), climbing ladders, kneeling/bending, and overhead work in active construction environments.
