What You'll Do

As a
Manager, Software Development
at EWN, you will:

  • Lead and manage a high-performing team of software engineers delivering secure, scalable, and high-quality web applications.
  • Translate business strategy into actionable development plans that align with organizational goals.
  • Promote and cultivate an agile culture, championing continuous improvement and delivery excellence.
  • Ensure application stability, reliability, performance, and adherence to best practices.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and performance feedback to individual contributors and agile teams.
  • Establish and track metrics and benchmarks to continuously improve team and individual performance.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration with Product, QA, and other stakeholders.
  • Oversee compliance with company policies, procedures, and development standards.
  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, development, and retention strategies to build a strong engineering organization.
  • Manage departmental budgets, including forecasting and expense monitoring.
  • Contribute hands-on development as needed while maintaining high standards of quality and scalability.
  • Anticipate growth and plan for future technical and staffing needs.

What You'll Bring

Required Skills & Experience

  • Minimum
    8 years of professional software development experience
  • Proven experience
    leading and managing development teams
  • Moderate understanding of:
  • Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Software design patterns
  • Git source control
  • Strong knowledge of:
  • Object-oriented programming
  • Web application architecture
  • Relational databases
  • Algorithms and data structures
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to prioritize work, manage multiple initiatives, and guide teams to successful outcomes

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field
  • Experience with:
  • ASP.NET Web API 2
  • AngularJS
  • Strong understanding of Agile development methodologies (Scrum, sprint planning, backlog refinement)
  • Experience in SaaS and/or oil, gas, or energy industry environments
  • Demonstrated success mentoring, coaching, and developing technical talent
