Responsibilities

• Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems efficiently to process transactions accurately and swiftly
• Assist customers with product inquiries, provide product demos when appropriate, and promote upselling opportunities to enhance sales
• Handle cash, credit card, and mobile payments with precision and confidence, ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed
• Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, restock merchandise, and ensure shelves are well-presented through merchandising and stocking efforts
• Deliver excellent customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, addressing questions professionally, and practicing good phone etiquette when assisting via phone or in person
• Support the store's sales goals through proactive engagement in retail sales techniques and upselling strategies
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth store operations and assist in supervising or mentoring new staff when needed

Qualifications

• Previous experience with POS systems and cashiering is preferred; familiarity with retail math and basic math skills is essential for accurate transactions
• Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve a diverse customer base effectively
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to engage confidently with customers and team members
• Experience in grocery stores or retail environments is a plus; knowledge of merchandising, stocking, and product demos is advantageous
• Demonstrated ability to provide outstanding customer service with professionalism and patience
• Supervising experience is beneficial for those interested in leadership opportunities within the team
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate loads, and work flexible hours as needed
