Murray Hill Pet Hospital has been serving the Midtown Manhattan and the surrounding boroughs of New York City since 2004! The practice is a full-service animal care center, providing convenient, high-quality care to every pet who walks in the door! Located walking distance to some of Manhattan's iconic landmarks, including the Chrysler Building and Madison Square Garden, the location is also surrounded by great restaurants and has an easy commute! We're looking for a Medical Director to join and help lead our amazing team!

Job Description:
  • Serves as a mentor to staff, providing stability and leadership within the hospital
  • Supports DVMs to develop an understanding and best practices of how behaviors impact revenue
  • Provides DVM's with one-on-one development supporting quarterly production, reviews production performance and coach for improvement
  • Works with the hospital manager on weekly priorities and expectations
  • Meets regularly with the hospital manager to review controllable costs: DVM and Support Staff payroll, inventory
  • Works in collaboration with the hospital manager to build and maintain our relationships with the referring community
  • Evaluates and monitors protocols for daily running/flow of the hospital, from intake to discharge
  • Plays a significant part in the decision-making process and implementation of any new initiatives within their hospital
  • Participates in weekly operational conference calls, practice management updates and training at all levels
  • Has strong proven leadership abilities and foundation of business skills to work alongside the District Director to support the growing success of the hospital
  • Has excellent mentoring, team building and communication skills
  • Technically advanced in their field and possess strong emotional intelligence: Self-aware, has positive attitudes, authenticity and empathy towards others

Clinical Focus:
  • Provides clinical, surgical and specialty responsibilities (60-80% of the time)
  • Examines, diagnoses, treats patients medically/surgically
  • Operates medical equipment
  • Client communications about care, conditions, treatments and follow up care
  • Prescribes medication

Requirements:
  • DVM license and New York State license (We can help with state licensing!)
  • Must be authorized to work in the USA
