We are hiring experienced Forklift Operators for our state-of-the-art logistics facility in Madison, Wisconsin. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts to move, stack, and stage materials throughout the warehouse. Your expertise is essential for maintaining smooth operations, ensuring timely loading and unloading of trucks, and supporting inventory management. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of warehouse safety procedures, excellent driving skills, and a commitment to maintaining a highly organized and productive work environment. This position is key to our logistics success. Safety is our highest priority.
Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, reach) safely and proficiently to transport goods within the warehouse.
- Load and unload trailers efficiently and accurately, ensuring proper securing of loads.
- Pick and stage orders for shipment, verifying items against documentation.
- Transport raw materials and finished products to designated areas.
- Conduct daily pre-operational inspections of forklifts and report any maintenance needs immediately.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety regulations, including safe operating practices and the mandatory use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Maintain accurate inventory records through proper scanning and data entry.
- Assist with general warehouse duties as needed, including sweeping, cleaning, and minor repairs.
- Collaborate effectively with supervisors and team members to meet operational goals in our logistics setting.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification and proven experience.
- Demonstrable ability to operate various types of forklifts.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, and logistics best practices.
- Ability to perform lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols and accident prevention.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and possess a strong work ethic.
- Willingness to work in a physically demanding, fast-paced environment.
