Join our bustling logistics center in Durham, North Carolina, as a Shipping Clerk! We are seeking an organized and efficient individual to manage the preparation and dispatch of outgoing shipments. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately processing orders, preparing shipping documentation, and coordinating with carriers. Your attention to detail ensures that every order leaves our facility correctly and on time. This is a vital position for maintaining customer satisfaction and operational efficiency. We are dedicated to providing a safe work environment, requiring all employees to use appropriate PPE and adhere to strict safety protocols. Responsibilities:
- Process outgoing shipments accurately and efficiently.
- Generate shipping labels and necessary documentation (e.g., bills of lading).
- Verify order accuracy before shipment.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers for pickup schedules.
- Operate shipping software and warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Inspect outgoing packages for proper packaging and labeling.
- Assist with loading trucks as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping area.
- Communicate with internal departments regarding shipment status.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and company policies, including the mandatory use of PPE.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Shipping Clerk or in a similar warehouse role is preferred.
- Proficiency in shipping software and WMS is a plus.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to perform light to moderate lifting up to 30 lbs.
- Understanding of logistics and shipping processes.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and committed to safety.
- Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.
