Job Summary:
We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Inventory Control Specialist to join our logistics team in Baltimore, Maryland. In this critical role, you will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our warehouse inventory. Your duties will include conducting cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, managing stock rotation, and implementing inventory control procedures. A sharp eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and a thorough understanding of warehouse operations are essential. This position plays a key role in optimizing our supply chain and ensuring efficient Logistics . A strong commitment to Safety and operational excellence is paramount.
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to ensure accuracy.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes.
  • Implement and maintain effective inventory control procedures and systems.
  • Manage stock rotation (e.g., FIFO - First-In, First-Out) to minimize obsolescence.
  • Monitor inventory levels and report on stock status.
  • Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) for inventory tracking and management.
  • Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure proper handling and storage of goods.
  • Adhere to all company Safety policies and procedures, including the use of appropriate PPE .
  • Assist in the organization and layout of warehouse storage areas.
  • Train new staff on inventory control procedures and best practices.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus.
  • Proven experience as an Inventory Control Specialist or in a similar warehouse/inventory role.
  • Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Understanding of Logistics and supply chain principles.
  • Ability to perform Lifting of moderate weight (up to 30 lbs) as needed for inventory checks.
  • Knowledge of inventory control best practices.
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Safety guidelines.
  • Willingness to wear required PPE .
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
