Why this role exists
You’ll be the *technical captain for Power Platform delivery*—shipping high-impact solutions _and_ building the governance, ALM, and standards that let us deliver repeatable outcomes across multiple SMB clients.
This is a hands-on architecture role. You will design, build, review, and coach—setting the technical bar while still shipping real solutions.
Top outcomes (first 90 days)
* Stand up a production-ready Power Platform foundation:
Dev/Test/Prod environments, DLP policies, security roles, secrets management, and CI/CD using Azure DevOps or GitHub.
* Ship *2–3 production solutions* (apps and flows) with logging, alerting, and measurable business impact.
* Publish a *lightweight Power Platform Playbook* covering architecture patterns, coding standards, ALM, and review checklists.
What you’ll do
*Architecture & Delivery*
* Design and implement end-to-end solutions across Power Automate (cloud & desktop), Power Apps (canvas & model-driven), Dataverse, SharePoint, Teams, and third-party APIs.
* Step in hands-on for complex logic, integrations, and performance-critical components.
*Governance, Security & ALM*
* Define environment strategy, DLP policies, identity and security roles, and data protection standards.
* Implement solution-based ALM, pipelines, environment variables, deployment gates, and automated quality checks.
* Establish telemetry, logging, and operational practices for production support.
*Integration & Extensibility*
* Design and build custom connectors, Azure Functions / Logic Apps, and event-driven integrations.
* Ensure reliability through proper error handling, retries, idempotency, pagination, and API throttling (429 handling).
*Coaching & Standards*
* Mentor developers and citizen makers through design reviews, code reviews, office hours, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
* Raise the overall technical maturity of the team through clear standards and practical guidance.
*Client Leadership*
* Translate business goals into technical roadmaps and solution designs.
* Define success metrics, explain trade-offs, and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
What you’ve done (must-haves)
* *5+ years with Microsoft Power Platform*, including *2+ years leading solution delivery or architecture*.
* Built and supported *production Power Apps and Power Automate solutions* using Dataverse.
* Implemented *ALM with solutions and pipelines* using Azure DevOps or GitHub and the Power Platform CLI.
* Strong API and integration experience (REST, OAuth); comfortable with PowerShell, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
* Experience with secure secrets management (Azure Key Vault or equivalent).
* Solid understanding of data modeling and reporting with Power BI; able to partner effectively with analytics teams (RLS, gateways, refresh).
Nice-to-haves
* Microsoft certifications (PL-400, PL-600, DP-500) or equivalent real-world depth.
* Dynamics 365, CoE Starter Kit, Copilot Studio / AI Builder.
* Experience in regulated environments (HIPAA, PCI, SOC 2).
* Azure messaging patterns (Service Bus, Event Grid) and cost governance.
