IRS Software Consultant

Job Summary

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement software applications utilizing languages such as Java, C#, Python, C++, and Ruby on Rails to support IRS operations.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs and web services to facilitate seamless data exchange across platforms using technologies like React Express, JavaScript, and SQL.
• Manage cloud infrastructure deployments on AWS and Azure, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security for critical applications.
• Develop front-end interfaces with modern web development tools including React and front-end frameworks to enhance user experience.
• Collaborate within Agile teams to plan sprints, conduct code reviews using version control systems such as GitHub and SVN, and ensure continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD).
• Optimize database performance by designing efficient schemas in MySQL and SQL Server while maintaining data integrity.
• Implement security best practices including RBAC (Role-Based Access Control), secure API integrations via RESTful standards, and compliance with federal cybersecurity protocols.

Requirements

• Proven experience in software development across multiple programming languages including Java, C#, C++, Python, Ruby on Rails, VBA, and C.
• Strong understanding of IT infrastructure components such as Linux servers, application hosting environments, and cloud services like AWS and Azure.
• Hands-on experience with web development frameworks including React, , and REST API design principles.
• Familiarity with version control systems such as GitHub and SVN for source code management.
• Knowledge of database management systems including MySQL and SQL Server; ability to write complex queries for data retrieval and manipulation.
• Experience working within Agile methodologies to deliver iterative project milestones efficiently.
• Understanding of security protocols including RBAC, API security standards, and compliance requirements relevant to federal agencies.
• Bonus skills include quantum engineering concepts applicable to advanced cryptography or secure communications; familiarity with application development in .NET framework; proficiency in JavaScript front-end development; experience with Linux system administration; knowledge of application development using C#, C++, VBA; familiarity with RESTful API design; working knowledge of application deployment via cloud platforms like Azure; expertise in API integration; experience with front-end frameworks such as React; understanding of serverless architectures.
