Job Description

DeLauter is seeking a Superintendent with some required travel within the Southeastern United States. Prior experience in ground-up construction, additions, interior remodels and design build is required. A majority of our work is in Florida, so being based in the Sunshine State is a plus, but not mandatory.

Applicants must possess a proven track record to deliver top quality construction management services on time, on budget and exceeding customer expectations.

Required experience: Construction: 5-7+ years

Responsibilities:

  • Daily, effective communication with the subcontractors and the DeLauter team.
  • Assist the Project Manager in developing the project schedule and weekly reporting.
  • Become familiar with and understand plans, specifications, site, local codes, local officials and inspection procedures.
  • Set up field office, communications, temporary services and trash removal as required.
  • Coordinates and maintains construction schedule, ensures projects are being completed according to drawings and specifications and quality expectations.
  • Identifies and solves problems daily
  • Schedule all subcontractors and deliveries as needed for a successful project.
  • Ensures quality standards are being met throughout the project.
  • Become knowledgeable with the scope of the project and all subcontract agreements.
  • Conduct calls and meetings as required with all subcontractor representatives of the project on a daily and/or weekly basis to schedule and coordinate construction activities; and to solve issues that may arise.
  • Ensure material/inventory is delivered in good condition to the construction site and off loaded per the construction schedule.
  • Work with owner, owner's rep, architect and subcontractors to resolve any conflicts that may arise and communicate any such conflicts immediately to the Project Manager.
  • Maintain daily logs, progress photographs and weekly reports.
  • Complete and submit all paperwork as required.
  • Establish and maintain benchmarks and reference points throughout the project.
  • Attend job meetings and/or any other meetings that may be required for the successful and timely completion of the project(s).
  • Communicate, implement and enforce company safety policy and OSHA guidelines.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and orderly job site throughout the project.
  • Schedule and attend all required inspections with the governing municipality.
  • Compile and schedule punch list items for completion in a timely fashion.
  • Close out field office and project as necessary.

Experience:

  • OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR Certifications required.
  • Must possess strong technical, communication and computer skills, including competency with MS Outlook, Excel, Word and document management/organization. Builder Trend experience a plus.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures, regulations and codes.
  • Some travel may be required for this position.
  • Ideal candidate will have experience in one or more of the following areas: ground-up construction, additions, commercial interiors and design build.
