Remote Nocturnist Nurse Practitioner/ PA

GeriHeal P.C. is growing and now looking to hire an enthusiastic Nurse Practitioner for Remote night call. Hospital experience preferred

The position includes the following skills sets: diagnose and treat health conditions, as well as promote good health practices. As an advanced practice registered nurse, you'll be our go-to person for ensuring the best patient care possible. The job description of a nocturnist nurse practitioner includes answering calls at night from hospital and nursing home. Some patients may require admission "tuck in" orders. Some nurses may need guidance on follow-up lab work, medical treatment or advise that patient should seek a higher level of care. We take pride in our patients and believe their care is of the utmost importance. You should have experience or be willing to learn in the following areas:

• in-patient hospital care
• internal medicine
• geriatrics
• psychiatry
• nursing home care

As a Nurse Practitioner, you'll have to work closely with other healthcare professionals, so you should have a team spirit and a positive attitude. Responsibilities

• Answer nursing questions respectfully
• Provide hospital admission orders
• Order and study diagnostic tests (blood tests, X-rays etc.)
• Propose treatments for chronic and infectious diseases
• Prescribe medications
• Review blood work
• Triage patients
• Know or be willing to learn IV fluid orders
• Know or be willing to learn antibiotic orders

Skills

• Experience and/ or education as a Nurse Practitioner in hospital, ER or other setting
• Expertise in primary care, acute care and chronic care practices
• Knowledge of health and patient care regulations
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong ethics
• Team spirit with a positive attitude
• Patience and empathy
• Willingness to continue gaining knowledge and clinical experience
• Valid nurse practitioner license

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $750.00 per day

License/Certification:

• Certified Nurse Practitioner (Preferred)
