PG&E is seeking a
Senior PMO / Project Management Analyst
to support its enterprise-wide
Propel Program
, a multi-year SAP S/4HANA transformation initiative. This is a
PMO Analyst role
, not a Project Manager position. The ideal candidate will work within the
Program Management Office
, analyzing program execution, reporting on project health, managing metrics, and supporting leadership decision-making across a large, complex IT program.

About the Role
As part of the Propel PMO, you will support program execution across cost, schedule, resources, risks, and dependencies for several hundred internal and external resources. The program is entering
Year 3
, transitioning into detailed design for the first of four major deployments, with completion targeted for
2031
.
This role offers strong visibility to senior leadership and opportunities to shape PMO processes, metrics, and deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
- Program Execution & Metrics
- Support weekly, monthly, and phase execution status meetings
- Prepare leadership-level reporting using
Jira, PowerBI, Excel, PowerPoint - Analyze complex data sets to surface insights, trends, and risks
- PMO Operations & Reporting
- Track overall program health across cost, schedule, resources, and dependencies
- Develop and maintain KPIs, dashboards, and executive summaries
- Dependency Management
- Identify and manage cross-program dependencies with other PG&E IT initiatives
- Proactively surface and mitigate scheduling or resource conflicts
- Financial & Resource Support
- Support vendor contract management, SOW updates, and invoice verification
- Assist with onboarding/offboarding of employees and consultants
- Ensure accuracy in cost and resource reporting
- Communications & Enablement
- Support all-hands town halls and new team member orientations
- Develop PMO presentations, templates, and program communications
- PMO Leadership Support
- Ad-hoc analysis, KPI creation, staffing forecasts, risk mitigation support
- Process improvement and PMO best-practice recommendations
Required Skills & Experience
- 10+ years
experience supporting large IT programs or enterprise software initiatives - Strong
PMO / Project Management Analyst
background (not delivery PM) - Exceptional
attention to detail and data accuracy - Advanced skills in
Excel, PowerPoint
, and reporting tools - Experience analyzing data across multiple systems (Jira, MS Project, Planisware, Ariba, etc.)
- Ability to manage
multiple concurrent priorities
in a fast-paced environment - Excellent written and verbal communication skills for executive audiences
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in
large enterprise or utility environments - Exposure to
SAP / ERP implementations
(Waterfall & Agile) - Financial forecasting support for professional services or system integrators
- Experience working with
SI partners
(e.g., PwC or similar) - Hands-on experience wit
- MS Project
(resource-loaded schedules) - PowerBI / PowerApps
- SharePoint
Education
- Bachelor's degree or higher in
Business, MIS, Computer Science
, or related field - Working knowledge of
financial and accounting concepts
Important Note:
This is a
PMO Analyst / Operations Analyst role
, not a Project Manager position. Candidates should have strong analytical, reporting, and PMO operations experience rather than end-to-end project ownership.
