At MadTree, our Math Department plays a critical role in keeping the business running smoothly – from closing the books to optimizing cash flow to ensuring tax compliance. We're seeking a detail-driven Accountant II who takes pride in accurate, timely work,

What You'll Do**

  • Own core accounting functions – Manage the full cycle from journal entries and reconciliations through month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
  • Support A/P – Lead accounts payable operations including invoice posting, A/P aging review, and weekly A/P runs to keep the business operating with predictable cash outflows
  • Keep us compliant – Coordinate Commercial Activity, Sales, and Excise Tax filings across multiple states and jurisdictions
  • Know the numbers behind the product – Handle product costing, track ingredient costs, and participate in inventory counts
  • Variety across business lines – Support hospitality, manufacturing, and distribution operations – no two days look the same
  • Build, not just maintain – Develop process automation that drives real efficiency improvements
  • Be a business partner – Work directly with department leaders to provide financial insights and identify opportunities

Position Summary
We're looking for someone who won't just process transactions – but will question how things are done and make them better. Works as a member of the Math Department to manage core accounting functions across hospitality, manufacturing, and distribution operations. Primary responsibilities include accounts payable management, treasury operations, month-end close processes, and tax compliance support while applying GAAP principles. This role also handles product costing, inventory support, and process automation. The expectation is to dedicate 5-10% of your time initially (growing to 20%) toward identifying inefficiencies, building scalable solutions, and strengthening systems. Serves as a proactive financial resource to business stakeholders. They will be an avid MadTree ambassador who lives the behaviors – Connect, Grow, and Give a F*ck.
