Lead Garage Door Technician/Installer

Overview
We are seeking a skilled Garage Door Service Technician to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for repairing and maintaining residential and commercial garage doors and openers.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, and manage a crew of technicians on residential and commercial job sites.
• Install, service, troubleshoot, and repair residential and commercial garage doors and opener systems.
• Perform installation and service of rolling steel doors, fire doors, sectional doors, and related hardware (preferred).
• Ensure jobs are completed efficiently, safely, and to company quality standards.
• Train, mentor, and support technicians to improve skills and job performance.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and determine appropriate repairs.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment for installation and service work. Assist in loading and un-loading materials, supplies and tools as directed. Clean and prepare work areas as directed.
• Check work tickets before leaving the shop to ensure that all information, material and tools needed to complete the work is obtained.
• Prepare material and supplies for the installation process and install all materials as per manufacturer's instructions and procedures.
• Notify customers of any additional labor or material that is required.
• Treat all customers with a professional, courteous attitude.
• Notify the Dispatcher of any damaged or defective materials, or potential defects that may affect customer satisfaction.
• Verify that all tools, excess materials and supplies are removed from the job site and stored, disposed of properly or returned to the shop as appropriately at the end of each day. Tools or materials lost from the truck or job site are the Field Technicians' responsibility. Complete all paperwork at this time.
• Maintain security procedures to protect the company's assets on the job site, i.e. tools, truck, equipment.
• Observe all safety and health rules and procedures on the job site. Some plants may require more safety equipment than others. Be sure to obey all plant safety rules.
• Field Technicians participate in a rotating on-call schedule.
• Observe all traffic laws and safety precautions while operating company vehicles.
• Maintain a cooperative working relationship with all other company employees.
• Perform all other duties as requested by management.
• Perform installations and repairs per manufacturers installation instructions and industry standard procedures.
• Evaluate all projects to verify working conditions are in a safe manner prior to the beginning of work.
• Perform all work in a safe and efficient manner.

Requirements

• Must have a current/ valid driver license.
• Must be able to meet the physical demands of the job. Body positions: Sitting, standing, kneeling. Body movements: Walking, turning, stooping, and reaching or carrying product, stepping over and around obstacles. Ladder climbing. Body senses: Must hear well enough to understand oral directions. Must see well enough to read labels, forms, directions and prints.
• Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Hand-to-eye coordination to use hand tools. Ability to perform hard physical labor. Ability to lift, unaided, 125 pounds
