We are partnering with a well-established, modernized mid-sized professional services firm in
Downtown Los Angeles
to recruit
two HR Generalists
to support its growing workforce. These roles offer an opportunity to join the firm's HR team during a period of transformation and process enhancement, supporting both day-to-day HR operations and broader people initiatives in a collaborative, business-oriented environment.
Work Arrangement & Compensation
- Hybrid schedule:
3 days in-office, Downtown Los Angeles - Salary range:
$90,000 – $110,000 (exempt)
Position Overview
The HR Generalist will support core human resources functions across the employee lifecycle. While both roles are generalist in nature, one position will place greater emphasis on
payroll and benefits administration
, including serving as backup support to the firm's Payroll Administrator. The second role will focus more broadly on
employee relations, compliance, and HR program support
.
Key Responsibilities
- Support all phases of the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, employee changes, benefits administration, and separations
- Maintain, audit, and update employee records in
ADP Workforce Now - Assist with payroll processing and provide backup support as needed
- Administer benefits programs, including enrollments, audits, invoicing, and open enrollment
- Manage leaves of absence (FMLA, CFRA, ADA) across multiple jurisdictions
- Coordinate Workers' Compensation claims and carrier communications
- Respond to employment verifications, unemployment claims, and related hearings
- Support employee relations matters, performance documentation, and compliance activities
- Monitor HR compliance deadlines and assist with policy updates and audits
- Prepare HR reports, maintain tracking tools, and support special projects
- Contribute to firmwide HR initiatives related to training, engagement, and employee experience
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR Generalist experience, including employee relations and investigations,
law firm
experience required - Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and HR compliance requirements
- Experience supporting multi-state employee populations; union experience a plus
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential matters with professionalism and sound judgment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to partner effectively with stakeholders at all levels
- Bachelor's degree required;
PHR or SPHR certification preferred - Experience with
ADP Workforce Now
strongly preferred
