Facilities Maintenance Technician

Position Summary: This class is the first and entry level in a four level Maintenance & Operations series. Incumbents perform routine maintenance and/or operational activities in assigned area of responsibility. Depending on assignment, typical duties may include: providing customer service; performing routine maintenance and repair of equipment, infrastructure, grounds, and/or related items; operating motorized vehicles and equipment; inputting data into computerized systems; preparing logs and records; and/or, performing other related activities.

Very Heavy Work: Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Incumbents may be subjected to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, vibrations, fumes, odors, dusts, gases, poor ventilation, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, workspace restrictions, intense noises, travel and environmental conditions such as disruptive people, imminent danger or a threatening environment.
