Burlingame Family Pet Hospital is growing, and we are seeking an adaptable Veterinary Assistant with client service experienceto join our team in a hybrid role
Our modern general practice and urgent care center provides comprehensive veterinary services, from wellness care and diagnostics to surgery, dentistry, and orthopedics. In this role, you will support day-to-day operations by assisting the medical team on the treatment floor and providing coverage at the reception desk as needed. Your responsibilities will include supporting triage, helping prepare patients for procedures, setting up and breaking down equipment, maintaining clean and organized workspaces, and assisting with basic recordkeeping. When supporting the front desk, you will greet clients, answer phones, help manage appointments, and ensure a smooth, welcoming experience. As our urgent care services continue to expand, you will play an important support role in helping the team deliver efficient, compassionate care.
Schedule:
This is a full-time position scheduled for three 10-hour swing shifts, Thursday through Saturday with our Urgent Care team, and one day shift on Tuesday supporting General Practice.
Full-time benefits and compensation**:
- Compensation: $23-27 per hour, for each hour worked*
- Shift differential: Additional $2/hr on weekends and weekdays after 7pm
- Bonus package: $500 for those with 3+ years of consecutive, current VA experience

Minimum qualifications and skill set:
- 1+ years of veterinary experience in a clinical setting
- Proficiency in the following skills:
- Reception duties including managing multi-line phones
- Surgical set up and assistance
- Radiology and laboratory processing
- Venipuncture and administering SQ injections
