Indiana Treatment Centers, in partnership with Ascension Recovery Services (ARS), is expanding access to high-quality, person-centered substance use disorder treatment across Indiana. Our newest location in Muncie, Indiana, is scheduled to open in Spring/Summer 2026, and we are seeking an experienced, mission-driven Program Director to lead this facility through pre-opening, launch, and ongoing program excellence.
This is a hands-on leadership role for a healthcare professional who understands substance use disorder treatment operations, regulatory compliance, and how to build strong teams while balancing clinical quality, culture, and performance.

Program Leadership & Team Management
- Provide day-to-day leadership for clinical, recovery, and program staff.
- Recruit, onboard, coach, and retain high-performing team members.
- Foster a trauma-informed, accountable, and mission-aligned workplace culture.
- Oversee performance management, coaching, and corrective action processes.
- Direct daily program operations to ensure safety, quality, and consistency of care.
- Implement and enforce policies, procedures, and workflows aligned with ARS standards.
- Partner with clinical leadership to ensure evidence-based, individualized treatment delivery.
- Support staffing plans, scheduling, and program-level operational needs.
- Participate in pre-opening planning, readiness activities, and go-live execution.
- Ensure compliance with Indiana licensing requirements, Joint Commission standards, and all applicable regulations.
- Maintain survey readiness and documentation integrity across all program areas.
- Oversee incident reporting, investigations, corrective action plans, and grievance resolution.
- Uphold patient rights, confidentiality, and ethical standards at all times.
- Collaborate with ARS leadership, admissions, and clinical teams to support census growth and continuity of care.
- Serve as a visible leader within the facility and a professional representative in the local community.
- Support referral relationships and community outreach efforts as needed.
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum 5+ years of leadership experience in substance use disorder treatment, behavioral health, healthcare, or human services.
- Strong working knowledge of residential and/or outpatient treatment programs.
- Experience with regulatory compliance and accreditation standards (Joint Commission experience strongly preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage change, and drive program performance.
- Excellent communication, judgment, and problem-solving skills.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire).
- Full-time, exempt, on-site leadership role in a 24/7 treatment environment.
- Availability for occasional evenings, weekends, and on-call responsibilities.
- Ability to move throughout the facility and occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
- Limited travel may be required for training or leadership meetings.
The base compensation range for this position is $X – $X. This range reflects Ascension Recovery Services' good-faith estimate at the time of posting. Placement within the range will be based on experience, qualifications, location, and internal equity.
