General Description:  

The Lead Relief Operator is responsible for supporting daily production operations by assisting Production Operators, providing skilled coverage across all machine centers, and helping maintain continuous workflow. This role includes troubleshooting mechanical and process issues in collaboration with the Maintenance team, ensuring safe and efficient operation of equipment, and delivering training to operators as needed. The Lead Relief Operator must maintain full operating proficiency on all production systems and serve as a key resource for operational continuity and problem-solving.

Principal Responsibilities:  

• Assist the Production Supervisor by directing and supporting Production Operators in daily tasks.
• Maintain operating proficiency on all machine centers and provide hands-on training to new Operators.
• Create, update, and audit Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for accuracy and compliance.
• Monitor production line performance and adjust equipment to ensure safe, efficient operation.
• Maintain required quality, safety, and production standards across all processes.
• Inspect the work area regularly to identify and prevent potential contamination risks.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate with Maintenance as needed.
• Perform basic preventive maintenance, including pre-checks, lubrication, and sanitary seal replacement.
• Complete tasks in the Master Sanitation Schedule and maintain proper documentation.
