Summary: The CWC Clinical Supervisor works closely with the CWC Program Director in the provision of clinical supervisory services to mental health professionals and case managers. This position provides clinical services to agency patients admitted to the CWC. The CWC Clinical Supervisor works in a supportive role within the Crisis Triage and Stabilization (CTS) Program and the Involuntary Treatment (ITA) Services Program.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participate in staff recruitment, interviewing, hiring, work assignments, and orientation and performance supervision according to work rules, regulations, and policies and collective bargaining agreements; develop and implement staff orientation and training in conjunction with the Program Director.
- Ensure that the CWC Clinical staff accomplish the following:
- Maintain complete and up to date files that document all services and contacts;
- Support and implement agency policies and procedures;
- Provide the necessary services and resources to patients in order to assist with resolving behavioral health crises in the least restrictive manner;
- Schedule and facilitate at least bi-weekly supervision sessions with MHPs and Case Managers;
- Completed 90 day probationary reviews as well as annual reviews with direct supervisory reports;
- Review clinical charts for accuracy and completeness, noting WAC and Medicaid requirements for both Crisis Stabilization and Involuntary Treatment Services;
- Ensure the ITA and CTS program are following CARF accreditation guidelines;
- Coordinate and collaborate with the Program Director on the progress of the training, professional development, and ability to deliver services as assigned;
- Assist the counselors with organizing all needs and supplies regarding the delivery of services;
- Facilitate monthly clinical meetings with the mental health professionals as well as the case management team;
- Monitor all ethical and safety concerns and report them immediately;
- Develop and maintain updated and continuous Professional Development Plans with the counselors that are reviewed on a quarterly basis;
- Maintain full and open communication with the Program Director in promoting communication and information between the team members, and other agency staff in delivery of services;
- Ensure that continuous quality improvement addresses both client needs and compliance with WACs, RCWs, RSN, Medicaid, and Federal Regulations;
- Ensure compliance with all applicable Lifeline Connections policies and contracts;
- Support with locating and filling in as floor staff coverage during time of low census or emergencies;
- Regularly train and drill staff on anti-restraint techniques to support in de-escalation for the ITA unit;
- Participate in seclusion and restraint debriefings with staff, patients, and program director to ensure policy and procedures are being followed as well as ways to prevent any restrictive interventions;
- Coordinates services with Clark County's Designated Crisis Responder's (DCR) and Court programs to facilitate the legal processes pursuant to RCW 71.05;
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION
The CWC Clinical Supervisor must qualify as a Mental Health Professional (MHP) per WA WACs, and have strong clinical skills and experience providing treatment to persons with severe and persistent mental illnesses and substance use disorders. Supervisory and program management experience is desirable. Demonstrated experience providing supervision and/or mentoring to subordinate staff or co-workers. Demonstrated experience at providing a safe and supportive environment for individuals early in recovery from alcohol and other drugs.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:- Current CPR and First Aid and Food Handlers permit, or ability to obtain one within 90 days.
- Must have a strong commitment to the right and ability of each person with a severe and persistent mental illness to live in normal community residences; work in market jobs; and have access to helpful, adequate, competent, and continuous supports and services.
- Be willing to seek to understand each individual's unique circumstances and personal preferences and goals and incorporate them into the crisis response to help individuals regain a sense of control.
- Understand and support the Living Room Model of service delivery-specifically that MHPs and RNs are not the primary support at CTS and ITA.
- Have a strong understanding of recovery and resilience, the value of partnerships and individual choice, and the balance between protection from harm and personal dignity.
- Interest or experience in working with individuals who are difficult to engage and maintain in traditional behavioral health programs.
- Subscribe to the philosophy of cooperation and continuity across programs and of consideration and respect for individuals.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals displaying a wide range of unpleasant and/or bizarre behaviors.
- Demonstrated knowledge regarding the management of challenging behaviors.
- Competency in adult psychopathology and pharmacology; clinical treatments of dual diagnosis clients and of substance use and addictions, individual crisis intervention and psychotherapy; professional ethics, and individual rights.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Great attendance.
- Ability to work well with others.
- This position requires shift work and requires the ability to work within a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- This position requires on-call work; the CWC Clinical Supervisor will be a part of the on call rotation with the Program Director, Director of Nursing as well as other supervisors within the Crisis Wellness Center
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the essential functions of the job, the incumbent is regularly required to sit, speak clearly, hear and use hands and fingers to manipulate writing utensils and keys on a keyboard. The incumbent is occasionally required to stand, walk, reach with hands or arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or lift and/or move maximum of 25 lbs.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Working hours are spent indoors in offices or meeting rooms. Occasional supervision of outdoor activities, visits to community agencies, and participation in staff retreats and staff development activities may be required.

Salary: $27.50- $37.50/hr DOE
