Automotive Technician

Job Summary

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive diagnostics on various automotive systems using advanced tools and schematics to identify issues accurately.
• Conduct repairs and maintenance on engines, transmissions, powertrains, electrical systems, brakes, suspension, steering, and other vehicle components.
• Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and specialized automotive diagnostic equipment to complete repairs efficiently.
• Service ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) features such as lane departure warnings, collision avoidance systems, and adaptive cruise control.
• Execute wheel alignments and wheel balancing to ensure proper vehicle handling and safety standards.
• Interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams to troubleshoot complex electrical and mechanical problems.
• Maintain detailed records of all repairs performed and communicate effectively with customers about their vehicle's condition and recommended services.

Experience

• Dealership experience or equivalent automotive service background preferred.
• Proven experience working with automotive diagnostics tools and schematics.
• Strong mechanical knowledge across various vehicle makes and models, including GM vehicles if applicable.
• Hands-on experience repairing diesel engines and working with transmissions is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with automotive electrical systems, powertrain components, ADAS technology, and alignment procedures.
• Service technician experience demonstrating proficiency in auto estimating software is a plus.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to clients.
• Prior experience working with auto repair for both gasoline and diesel engines, including welding or fabrication skills preferred.
