Silicon Photonics Applications Engineer

Job Description

As a growing company, we are seeking an experienced Silicon Photonics Applications Engineer to support our sales and marketing team. This individual will be working directly with customers to support their product designs using electro-optic polymers.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop application notes, white papers, and related documents for customers, foundries, and other ecosystem partners.
• Work directly with customers to support their product designs.
• Work directly with foundries to implement EO polymers and encapsulation in their process flow.
• Collaborate with materials and engineering teams to ensure a consistent flow of communication from customers, foundries, and other external partners.
• Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Requirements:

• A bachelor's degree in physics, engineering, materials science, or related field, and 5+ years of industry experience. A master's degree with 3+ years of experience will be considered.
• Demonstrated ability to support customers and external partners by solving complex problems.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong understanding of silicon photonics design and manufacturing, including photonics foundry processes and PDKs.
• Previous experience with photonics foundries and PDKs.
• Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally, 30%.
• Previous experience with polymers, optical modulators, nonlinear optics, or encapsulation processes is highly desired.
• Fluent in Mandarin preferred.

The salary range for this role is $105,000- $160,000 (based on experience and location), plus equity.
