Licensed Practical Nurse

Location: Downtown Doral Charter Upper School (Doral, Type: (Full-Time Schedule: Monday – Friday (School Hours) 7:00 AM – 2:30 PM)

Position Overview

We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and proactive Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our health services team. As a School Nurse, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health and safety of our students, allowing them to focus on their education. You will be the primary point of contact for daily medical needs, chronic condition management, and emergency response within the school building.

Key Responsibilities

• Student Care: Provide first aid and emergency care for injuries and sudden illnesses.
• Medication Administration: Safely dispense prescribed medications to students according to state and district policies.
• Chronic Care Management: Assist students with ongoing health needs, such as diabetes (glucose monitoring/insulin), asthma (nebulizer treatments), and severe allergies (EpiPen administration).
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate, confidential electronic health records, including immunization logs and individual health plans (IHPs).
• Screenings: Conduct or assist with mandated health screenings (vision, hearing, etc.).
• Communication: Act as a liaison between students, parents, teachers, and administrators regarding student health concerns.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program.
• Licensure: Current, valid LPN License in the state of (Insert State).
• Certification: Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification.
• Experience: Previous experience in pediatrics, emergency care, or a school setting is preferred but not required.
• Skills: Strong communication skills, ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations, and basic computer proficiency.
