Position Type: Full Time/ Hourly
Schedule: 1st Shift, 7:30am to 4:00pm, Monday through Friday
Pay Rate: $23.00/Hourly
Purpose of Position:
The Special Projects Tech & Support position supports all 3D printing additive manufacturing operations by operating and maintaining 3D printing equipment, performing routine preventative maintenance (PMs), and assisting in maximizing machine productivity and uptime. This role also supports post-processing activities, including cleaning, finishing, and assembling printed parts. The technician works under established procedures and guidelines to ensure reliable, safe, and efficient production in support of multiple projects.
In addition, this position supports facility layout design efforts, equipment deployment, and start-up activities by working cross-functionally with automation and operations teams. The role provides hands-on and technical support for new operations support and automation projects, including assisting with design, installation, testing, and troubleshooting. Additional projects include designing and producing parts and solutions that support customer value delivery, safety improvements, cost savings, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements

- Basic understanding of 3D printing or manufacturing processes.
- Mechanical aptitude and interest in hands-on technical work.
- Ability to follow technical instructions and procedures.
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
- Ability to work independently with guidance and as part of a team.
Equipment Operation & Maintenance:
- Operate and monitor 3D printing equipment according to standard procedures.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance (PMs) as scheduled and trained.
- Assist with printer setup, calibration, and material changes.
- Identify, document, and report equipment issues or abnormalities.
- Maintain basic equipment and maintenance records.
Productivity & Uptime Support:
- Support daily production goals by helping keep machines running.
- Follow established workflows to minimize downtime.
- Assist with basic troubleshooting under guidance.
Post-Processing & Assembly:
- Remove printed parts from machines and support structures.
- Clean, finish, and prepare parts using approved tools and methods.
- Perform basic part assembly and visual inspections.
- Ensure parts meet project and quality requirements.
Materials, Safety & Organization:
- Handle materials and equipment according to safety guidelines.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Assist with inventory tracking of materials and consumables.
Collaboration & Documentation:
- Communicate effectively with technicians, engineers, and supervisors.
- Follow work instructions, SOPs, and quality standards.
- Support multiple projects and shifting priorities as needed.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with 3D printing equipment or related manufacturing tools.
- Technical education, certifications, or relevant hands-on experience.
