Graphic Designer – Email, Web & Social Media

Location: Remote (U.S.) | Department: Creative | Reports to: VP Creative

No benefits at this time, contract position with regular hours and employee perks

About the role

Custom Brand Service is looking for a detail-oriented, brand-obsessed Graphic Designer to bring our clients' visions to life across email, web, and social channels. This role sits at the heart of our client accounts, partnering closely with Brand Managers and the web lead to ensure every touchpoint feels cohesive, on-brand, and conversion-focused.

What you'll do

  • Collaborate with Brand Managers and the web lead to interpret client briefs and translate them into clear, on-brand visual concepts across email, web, and social media.

  • Set up and maintain Canva brand kits for each new client and ensure they are correctly linked on the project overview page so all assets stay consistent and easy to access.

  • Design and build email marketing campaigns in Canva for multiple clients, saving all campaigns in the correct brand folders and aligning to each client's strategy and calendar.

  • Send test emails to the internal review inbox at least four days before the scheduled send date, gather feedback from the Brand Manager, and implement revisions promptly.

  • Share the finalized email campaign with the client at least forty-eight hours before the send date, managing approvals one campaign at a time to avoid confusion and ensure clarity.

  • Design homepage banners for both mobile and desktop whenever a client has a sale or a scheduled homepage update, ensuring conversion-focused layouts and clear messaging.

  • Create additional website graphics and content under the direction of the Brand Manager or web lead, maintaining visual consistency and usability.

  • Produce social media graphics and components for assigned accounts, pairing Brand Manager-provided copy with compelling, scroll-stopping visuals.

  • Check every link in each email campaign during internal review and before launch, flagging missing or broken links in Asana and tagging the Brand Manager at least four days before send.

  • Verify product stock for all items featured in emails before internal review and again before send by clicking through all links and confirming products are live and purchasable.

  • Create a task for the web lead when products are missing or not live so they can be built or fixed in time for the scheduled send date.

  • Ensure all campaigns launch on time at the agreed-upon send time (typically 6:30 AM in the recipient's local time zone), double-checking scheduling details.

  • Set up and manage basic customer segments in Klaviyo and understand how flows work, partnering with the web lead to ensure all flows and automations are functioning correctly.

  • Work within Asana to manage tasks, meet deadlines, and keep stakeholders updated on progress and approvals.

What you'll bring

  • Proven experience as a Graphic Designer, Digital Designer, or Email Designer, ideally in an agency or multi-brand environment.

  • Strong portfolio showcasing email designs, homepage banners, and social media creatives, preferably for eCommerce or marketing-focused brands.

  • Advanced skills in Canva, including brand kits, templates, and efficient asset organization.

  • Hands-on experience designing and/or building campaigns in Klaviyo (or similar platforms) and a working understanding of segmentation and flows.

  • Excellent eye for layout, typography, color, and visual hierarchy, with a mobile-first mindset for email and web design.

  • High attention to detail, especially around links, products, and QA steps before campaigns go live.

  • Comfort working with project management tools such as Asana and collaborating with cross-functional team.

  • Strong communication skills, openness to feedback, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines at once.

  • Experience with eCommerce brands and promotional campaigns (sales, launches, seasonal events).

  • Familiarity with other design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Figma) and basic knowledge of web best practices.

If you share a passion for thoughtful, conversion-focused design and love turning briefs into polished campaigns that perform, CBS would love to see your portfolio and talk with you.
