Job Summary

PSEG seeks a Utility Business Analysis Manager to join the SAP Strategy and Planning team. The SAP Strategy and Planning team is responsible for SAP system maintenance for PSEG which includes the processing of the monthly accounting close, as well as, a leader for the annual cost planning processes at both the front end for the cost flows and the processing to ensure accuracy. Maintain the FI, CO and Ferc modules of SAP, ensuring the cost allocation methods for each line of business Transmission, E-D, G-D (including ASB) and other areas, including costs from Services Corporation appropriately flow to the right cost categories (capital, O&M third party) and other business areas. This role will also provide support for Distribution and Transmission regulatory filings. The role operates in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment, and should have the ability to influence the decisions of senior business leaders through effective verbal and written communication, logical reasoning, and the presentation of alternatives. The successful candidate must be able to think and act both strategically, tactically, and provide technical expertise to ensure financial data integrity in the FI/CO/FERC modules of SAP. This role reports to the Utility Business Manager.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide guidance, documentation, and maintenance of the SAP Accounting Closing process, including reviewing all SAP master data structures and relationships and overhead assessment processing.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, exhibits and various other reports for regulatory filings.
  • Act as subject matter expert for SAP cost allocation, the FERC module and other aspects of SAP for transmission formula rate filings, Distribution rate case filings and other roles as necessary.
  • Ensure uniformity with business rules, assessment calculations, and organizational structures in SAP with new budgeting system.
  • Ensure accounting policies are appropriately reflected within the system processing algorithm and responsible for assisting in establishing and maintaining compliance to various SOX/accounting controls.
  • Train cost planners and others on cost planning in SAP including cost flows through the SAP cost flows design hierarchy, orders, cost elements, surcharging, assessments etc..
  • Implement new business processes and streamline and improve current business processes.
  • Participate on cross-functional teams to solve business issues.
  • Review and evaluate new and existing accounting policies for application.
  • Assist with audits and special projects as required.
  • Develop appropriate tools to assist PSEG in analyzing the potential impacts of its business decisions.
Job Specific Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 7 years of financial planning and analysis experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in financial analysis and budgeting and financial practices.
  • Understanding of FERC reporting and general accounting practice.
  • Excellent PC skills with a superior working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, and other database software. Expert user of Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to interact with internal and external providers/users of financial information.
  • Ability to present and interact with senior personnel.
  • Department of Energy's regulation 10 CFR 810 is required.

Desired

  • Bachelor's Degree or Advanced Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Management.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient in MS Access.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Experience in a utility industry.
