Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Laboratory Assistant to support our research and clinical laboratories. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in laboratory procedures, scientific research, and laboratory techniques, with a focus on maintaining high standards of quality and compliance. As a Laboratory Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring accurate data collection, sample processing, and adherence to regulatory guidelines such as GLP (Good Laboratory Practice), CGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practice), and FDA regulations. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to innovative research and development projects within a dynamic scientific environment.
Duties
- Prepare, process, and analyze biological samples using established laboratory techniques across microbiology, histology, molecular biology, and other disciplines.
- Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies, ensuring all instruments are calibrated and functioning according to manufacturer specifications.
- Assist in the implementation of laboratory procedures aligned with GLP, CGMP, and FDA regulations to ensure compliance during experiments and quality control activities.
- Collect, record, and manage experimental data accurately within Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) or other digital platforms.
- Support research projects by performing routine tasks such as sample labeling, data entry, and inventory management of reagents and consumables.
- Follow safety protocols related to animal physiology, veterinary terminology, microbiology, and clinical laboratory practices to ensure a safe working environment.
- Contribute to research & development initiatives by supporting scientific experiments that require precise laboratory techniques and analysis skills.
- Assist with microbiological testing, histological preparations, or molecular biology assays as needed for ongoing projects or quality assurance processes.
Skills
- Strong understanding of laboratory procedures across multiple disciplines including microbiology, histology, molecular biology, and clinical testing.
- Knowledge of GLP (Good Laboratory Practice), CGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practice), and FDA regulations relevant to laboratory operations.
- Experience working in industrial or research laboratories with a focus on quality control and scientific research methodologies.
- Proficiency with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) for data collection and sample tracking.
- Familiarity with veterinary terminology and animal physiology for laboratories involving animal models or clinical samples.
- Excellent analysis skills with the ability to interpret experimental data accurately.
- Strong organizational skills for managing multiple tasks efficiently within fast-paced environments.
- Ability to follow detailed protocols while maintaining attention to detail in all aspects of laboratory work.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams involved in research & development projects.
- Basic math skills necessary for calculations related to sample preparation, dilutions, or statistical analysis.
