Andrew Fleck Children's Services is looking to hire a School Age Educator. In this role you will provide nurturing care and developmentally appropriate education to meet the needs of children in a group setting within a safe and healthy environment and in cooperation with parents, colleagues and community professionals.
Available from: February 9th,2026
Salary: $27.70 to $32.44 per hour
Hours: 35 hours per week, 7 hours per day, 7:30 am-9:30 am / 12:15 pm-5:15 pm
Location: Carleton Heights Child Care Centre, 1660 Prince of Wales Drive

In this role you will…
- Participate in a child-focused curriculum where staff and children work together to expand and develop a wide range of skills and competence based on the emergent curriculum philosophy. An emergent curriculum is one that builds upon the interests of the children. It is often spontaneous and responsive to their immediate interests; topics are driven by the ideas and questions from the children themselves
- Engage in caring, curious, and respectful interactions with children to support their growing relationships with themselves, each other, and the natural world
- Actively encourage and promote outdoor learning and play with the children
- Be committed to the welfare and development of all children, and be available for consultation, information, and resources for families and guardians
- Welcome the diversity of all families, role modelling inclusive and accessible language
To qualify for this role you have…
- Degree or diploma in Early Childhood Education, Bachelor of Education, Recreation or Child and Youth diploma
- RECE in good standing with the CECE or member of Ontario College of Teachers or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children in a group setting
- Clear Police Records check completed in last 6 months
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR Certification
- Proven ability to work closely with other team members
- Sensitivity and respect for individual and cultural differences
- Adequate energy level and ability to meet the physical demands of the job
