We are hiring a Material Handler for our Virginia Beach, Virginia facility! This is a critical role within our logistics network, focused on the safe and efficient movement of materials throughout the warehouse. You will be responsible for operating various types of material handling equipment, loading and unloading trucks, and ensuring materials are staged correctly for production or shipment. If you have experience with warehouse equipment and a strong commitment to safety, we encourage you to apply. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload materials from trucks, trailers, and containers.
- Move materials to and from designated storage areas, production lines, and shipping docks.
- Perform regular inspections of material handling equipment.
- Assist in maintaining accurate inventory counts and locations.
- Follow all safety procedures and protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Ensure that all materials are handled with care to prevent damage.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to all company policies, including the mandatory use of PPE.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth warehouse operations.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Material Handler or in a similar warehouse role.
- Proficiency in operating forklifts and other material handling equipment.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting up to 60 lbs.
- Understanding of warehouse logistics and material flow.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to regulations.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet performance demands.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends if needed.
- Valid driver's license may be required for certain equipment operation.
- Willingness to wear required PPE at all times.
