We are looking for a detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist to join our Milwaukee, Wisconsin warehouse team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our inventory. Your duties will include conducting cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and implementing process improvements to minimize stock variances. This position is key to our logistics operations, ensuring we have the right products in the right place at the right time. A strong understanding of inventory management systems and a commitment to accuracy are essential. We maintain a high standard for safety and require all employees to use appropriate PPE and follow all guidelines.
Responsibilities:
- Perform regular cycle counts of inventory items in various warehouse locations.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Conduct audits of inventory storage locations for organization and accuracy.
- Assist in the implementation of inventory control procedures and best practices.
- Monitor inventory levels and report on stock status.
- Support the receiving and shipping departments with inventory-related issues.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of inventory to prevent damage or loss.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and utilize required PPE consistently.
- Collaborate with management to improve inventory accuracy and efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in inventory control, warehousing, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management principles and practices.
- Proficiency with WMS software and other inventory control tools.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to perform moderate lifting (up to 30 lbs).
- Understanding of logistics flow within a warehouse environment.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Commitment to safety standards and wearing appropriate PPE.
