Our Detroit, Michigan facility is seeking a diligent Receiving Clerk to manage incoming goods. This vital role ensures that all shipments are received accurately, inspected, and documented properly within our **logistics** system. You will be responsible for unloading delivery trucks, verifying contents against purchase orders, and reporting any discrepancies. Maintaining a clean and organized receiving area, adhering to **safety** protocols, and correctly using **PPE** are essential components of this position. A keen eye for detail and the ability to perform physical tasks are necessary. This role is perfect for someone looking to contribute to the efficiency of our warehouse operations.
Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming shipments from trucks and containers.
- Verify the quantity and quality of goods received against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Identify and report any damages, shortages, or discrepancies immediately.
- Document all received items accurately in the inventory system.
- Tag and label incoming goods for proper storage.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Operate pallet jacks and other material handling equipment as needed.
- Adhere to all company **safety** policies and procedures.
- Wear required **PPE**, including **safety** vests, gloves, and footwear.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in receiving, warehousing, or a **logistics** role is preferred.
- Ability to perform **Lifting** of up to 50 lbs.
- Familiarity with basic inventory control and documentation.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Understanding of warehouse **safety** standards and **PPE** requirements.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Must be reliable and punctual.
