We are seeking an organized and efficient Shipping Clerk for our Milwaukee, Wisconsin location. This position is crucial for the successful execution of our outbound **logistics**. As a Shipping Clerk, you will manage all aspects of the shipping process, from document preparation to carrier coordination. Key responsibilities include generating shipping labels, creating accurate manifests, and ensuring that all packages are prepared according to **safety** and company standards. You will work closely with our warehouse team and external carriers to guarantee on-time deliveries. A strong emphasis is placed on maintaining meticulous records and adhering to all **safety** protocols, including the mandatory use of **PPE**. Responsibilities:
- Process and document all outgoing shipments accurately.
- Generate shipping labels and prepare necessary paperwork (bills of lading, customs forms if applicable).
- Verify shipment contents against order documentation.
- Coordinate pick-up schedules with various shipping carriers (UPS, FedEx, LTL, etc.).
- Maintain organized shipping files and records.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments and external carriers.
- Ensure all packages comply with **safety** regulations and shipping carrier guidelines.
- Wear appropriate **PPE** at all times, including **safety** glasses and gloves when handling packages.
- Assist with resolving shipping errors and customer inquiries related to shipments.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in shipping, receiving, or a related **logistics** field.
- Familiarity with shipping software (e.g., ShipStation, carrier portals) and basic computer skills.
- Understanding of **logistics** principles and shipping procedures.
- Ability to perform light **Lifting** (up to 20 lbs) for package verification.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Commitment to workplace **safety** and proper **PPE** utilization.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and customer service orientation.
