Job Summary:
We are seeking a meticulous Inventory Control Specialist to join our team in Madison, Wisconsin. In this critical role, you will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our inventory through diligent tracking, auditing, and reconciliation processes. You will play a vital part in our logistics operations by ensuring that inventory data is precise, minimizing discrepancies, and supporting efficient stock management. Your duties will include performing regular cycle counts, investigating inventory variances, managing stock levels, and implementing best practices for inventory control. A strong commitment to safety and adherence to all warehouse procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), is essential. This position requires exceptional attention to detail, analytical skills, and a solid understanding of warehouse management systems and logistics principles. Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventories.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records in the WMS.
  • Monitor stock levels and report on inventory status.
  • Implement and enforce inventory control procedures.
  • Identify and report on slow-moving or obsolete stock.
  • Ensure the proper storage and organization of inventory.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and wear appropriate PPE.
  • Assist in the receiving and put-away process as needed.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of inventory management processes.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in inventory control or a related warehouse role.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management principles and logistics.
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory software.
  • Knowledge of safety practices and the importance of PPE.
  • Ability to perform basic physical tasks, including lifting up to 30 lbs.
  • Good organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
