We are looking for a detail-oriented Receiving Clerk to join our Sacramento, California logistics team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the accurate and efficient processing of incoming shipments. Your duties will include unloading goods, verifying contents against purchase orders, inspecting for damage, and ensuring proper documentation. A commitment to Safety and organization is essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities:
- Unload incoming freight from trucks and other carriers.
- Verify received goods against purchase orders, invoices, and shipping documents.
- Inspect incoming items for damage, shortages, or discrepancies, reporting any issues promptly.
- Accurately record received inventory into the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Stage received goods in designated areas for put-away or further processing.
- Operate pallet jacks and other material handling equipment safely.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free receiving area.
- Adhere strictly to all company Safety policies and procedures, including the correct use of PPE.
- Assist with inventory counts and reconciliation as needed.
- Requires ability to perform occasional Lifting of items up to 50 pounds.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse receiving or logistics role is preferred.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting shipping documents and purchase orders.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and verification.
- Ability to operate basic warehouse equipment safely.
- Knowledge of Safety regulations within a warehouse environment.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with WMS or inventory control software is a plus.
- Must be committed to upholding high standards of Safety.
