We are seeking a meticulous Inventory Control Specialist for our Detroit, Michigan location. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our inventory data, ensuring our logistics operations run smoothly. Your duties will include conducting regular cycle counts, investigating discrepancies, and implementing measures to improve inventory accuracy. A strong understanding of warehouse processes and a commitment to Safety are key.
Responsibilities:
- Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate inventory records in the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Develop and implement strategies to reduce inventory shrinkage and improve accuracy.
- Ensure proper storage and organization of inventory items.
- Collaborate with warehouse and logistics teams to optimize inventory flow.
- Uphold all company Safety policies and procedures, including the use of appropriate PPE.
- Assist with receiving and put-away processes as needed.
- May involve some occasional Lifting of inventory items up to 25 lbs.
Qualifiations:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in a related field is a plus.
- Proven experience in inventory control or a related warehouse role.
- Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations and logistics principles.
- Familiarity with Safety regulations and best practices in a warehouse environment.
- Ability to perform basic physical tasks related to inventory assessment.
- Must be committed to maintaining high standards of Safety and inventory accuracy.
