We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Order Picker to join our dynamic warehouse team in Des Moines, Iowa. The Order Picker will be responsible for accurately and efficiently retrieving products from warehouse shelves to fulfill customer orders. This role is crucial to our logistics operations, ensuring timely and accurate shipment of goods. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will be working with a variety of products, so adaptability and a commitment to organization are essential. Our warehouse is committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety and efficiency, and we provide all necessary training and personal protective equipment (PPE). Proper lifting techniques will be emphasized, as the role may involve lifting up to 50 pounds regularly. Responsibilities:
- Accurately pick customer orders from designated warehouse locations using handheld scanners or pick lists.
- Transport picked items to the packing or shipping area.
- Verify product information and quantities against order details.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring aisles are clear and inventory is properly stored.
- Adhere to all warehouse safety procedures and protocols, including the use of required PPE.
- Participate in inventory counts and stock checks as needed.
- Operate manual pallet jacks or other equipment safely.
- Report any damaged products or discrepancies to a supervisor.
- Follow all company policies and procedures related to order fulfillment and warehouse operations.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.
Qualifications:
- Previous warehouse or picking experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Basic math skills for quantity verification.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, and lift for extended periods.
- Proficiency in lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Commitment to workplace safety and the use of PPE.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Familiarity with warehouse logistics and inventory systems is a plus.
