We are seeking a reliable and experienced Forklift Operator to join our dynamic logistics team in Washington, D.C. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts safely and efficiently to move materials, load and unload trucks, and assist in maintaining an organized warehouse environment. This role is crucial to our daily operations, ensuring the smooth flow of goods and timely delivery. You will work closely with other warehouse personnel and management to achieve operational goals. A strong commitment to safety protocols and a keen eye for detail are essential. Responsibilities include performing pre-operational checks on forklifts, transporting materials to and from designated areas, and stacking items appropriately. You will also be involved in inventory counts and ensuring the accuracy of stock levels. Adherence to all company policies and procedures, especially those concerning warehouse safety and equipment operation, is mandatory. Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required at all times. This position involves regular lifting and moving of heavy objects. Responsibilities:
- Operate forklifts to move, load, unload, and stack materials.
- Conduct daily pre-operation inspections of forklifts and report any issues.
- Transport goods from receiving to storage or to shipping areas.
- Assist with inventory management and stocktaking as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
- Ensure proper use of PPE, including safety glasses and hard hats.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge in logistics and safety.
Qualifications:
- Valid Forklift Operator certification.
- Proven experience operating various types of forklifts.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required.
- Knowledge of warehouse safety procedures.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
