We are hiring a diligent Shipping Clerk for our bustling logistics facility in Columbus, Ohio. In this role, you will be responsible for meticulously preparing outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy, and coordinating with carriers. Your duties will include verifying order details, packaging items securely, generating shipping labels, and maintaining shipping documentation. A keen eye for detail, organizational skills, and a commitment to workplace safety are essential. You will play a key role in our distribution process, ensuring that products reach our customers efficiently and correctly. We provide a safe working environment and expect all team members to follow safety protocols, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safe lifting practices. Responsibilities:
- Verify accuracy of outgoing orders against shipping manifests and invoices.
- Package products securely and appropriately for shipment, ensuring protection during transit.
- Generate shipping labels and prepare necessary documentation for carriers.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers for pickup and delivery schedules.
- Maintain accurate records of all outgoing shipments.
- Operate shipping software and warehouse management systems (WMS) as needed.
- Conduct final quality checks of orders before they are dispatched.
- Adhere to all safety regulations, including safe lifting procedures and the use of PPE.
- Keep the shipping area clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Support other warehouse functions and logistics operations as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or a related warehouse role is preferred.
- Proficiency in using computers, printers, and shipping software.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Understanding of basic logistics and supply chain principles.
- Commitment to workplace safety and the correct use of PPE.
