Our Houston, Texas warehouse is seeking a detail-oriented Receiving Clerk to manage incoming shipments. As a Receiving Clerk, you will play a crucial role in the initial stages of our logistics pipeline, ensuring that all incoming goods are accurately accounted for, inspected, and stored. You will be responsible for unloading deliveries, verifying quantities against manifests, inspecting for damage, and preparing items for distribution or storage. This role requires meticulous record-keeping and adherence to strict safety procedures. Your efficiency and accuracy are vital to maintaining the integrity of our inventory and the smooth operation of our warehouse.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and unload incoming inventory from trucks and carriers.
- Verify received items against packing slips and purchase orders for accuracy.
- Inspect all incoming goods for damage, shortages, or discrepancies.
- Document all receiving activities, including any exceptions or issues.
- Tag and label received items appropriately for tracking.
- Move received goods to designated staging or storage areas.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area.
- Adhere to all company safety guidelines and procedures, including proper use of PPE.
- Communicate effectively with shipping departments, vendors, and other internal teams regarding received goods.
- Assist with inventory management tasks as assigned within our logistics framework.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse receiving role is preferred.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing, walking, and lifting up to 40 lbs.
- Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Proficiency in basic computer operations and data entry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and have a strong work ethic.
- Willingness to comply with all safety regulations and wear required PPE.
